Jason Hsu
He/Him. Therapist.
My Approach
My name is Jason Hsu, and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). I provide compassionate, trauma-informed therapy for a broad range of concerns, with particular emphasis on anxiety, depression and trauma. I have expertise in working with loved ones and caregivers of individuals with serious mental illness including schizophrenia and other psychotic disorders. My approach to therapy is based on building trust, nonjudgmental listening, and empowering clients to unlock insights that will help them overcome what can seem like insurmountable barriers. I prioritize my relationship with my clients and flexibility in determining interventions to reach their goals over expertise an any one type of therapy. The therapy modalities I most commonly use are psychodynamic, CBT and DBT. My style is best summarized as energetic, flexible, supportive and humorous (when appropriate).

About me
I began my career volunteering at women's sexual assault and domestic violence center as an undergrad. I have worked with many underserved populations in different capacities prior to moving to private practice as a therapist. I am approaching 20 years of experience with clients. I received my undergraduate degree in Psychology and Sociology at UC Davis and my Master's in Social Welfare at UC Berkeley.
